Born in Greece and based in London since 2001. After getting her Bachelor in Fashion degree in 2003, Fotini decided to continue her research. Graduated with a Master of Arts from the London University of Arts in 2008 and she established her label three years later.
What gives her garments originality is their exceptional and particular sense of shape and pattern cutting, originating from a concept and developed for about three or four seasons. Stemming from her academic background, Fotini has developed a distinctive method of analysis. Her visual inspiration allows her to generate a theoretical equation that is better described as “unorthodoxy translated into a fashion concept and thus challenging convention in appearance.”
Nevertheless, this apparently conceptual approach hides a more pragmatic aspiration. Not only does the development of Avant-grade pattern cutting techniques characterize her design but most importantly, her desire to create comfortable garments as her ultimate goal.
As she explains regarding her last collection “I am working on a development of new unconventional technique inspired by the leather gloves pattern cutting technique and dance via the coexistence of the dance partners along with movement. These elements were introduced through the cuts of the garments by creating unique shapes with secure and comfortable fitting.”
Her unique artistic vision and practical skills have already allowed Fotini to work along many independent London studios and win competitions worldwide.
