Fotini Vergini: A Designer’s Perspective

What gives my garments originality is their exceptional and particular sense of shape and pattern cutting. This originates from a concept and develops for about three or four seasons. From my academic background, I have, in effect, developed a distinctive method of analysis. My visual inspiration allows me to generate a theoretical equation that is unorthodoxly translated into a fashion concept and thus, challenges convention in appearance.

Nevertheless, this conceptual approach hides a more pragmatic aspiration. Not only does the development of avant-garde pattern cutting techniques characterize my design, most importantly, the desire to create comfortable garments does.

My collection for Façonner’s Launch developed new unconventional pattern cutting technique inspired by leather gloves pattern cutting technique and dance via the coexistence of dance partners along with movement. These elements were introduced through the cuts of the garments by creating unique shapes with secure and comfortable fitting.

My artistic vision and practical skills have allowed me to work along many independent studios and win competitions.
